Hi! My name is Paige Lahaise and I am an Instructional Technology Facilitator with the Los Angeles Unified School District. Since I was once an English teacher I would like to share about myself through an acrostic…
My name is Paige Lahaise. I live in Santa Monica with my adorable dog Ollie:
My favorite things to do are going to the beach and laying in my hammock with my Kindle!
I always lead with sound instructional practices and good, solid lessons. However, there are a few applications I enjoy using including:
VR & AR applications
Some words that describe me:
Collaborative, problem solver, enthusiastic, outspoken, idea generator, friendly, excited about tech, an innovative designer.
I love supporting teachers and students to build their technology skills.
I have been a teacher for over 20 years.
I began my career in E. LA at Euclid Ave. Elementary School.
I left there and taught in Seoul, Korea for a year.
When I returned I went to the San Gabriel School District and taught at Gabrielino High.
I then spent the next 15 years at Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies. In addition to teaching AP, 11th, 12th & 8th grades, I was also the English Department Chair, College & Career Coach, Tech Coach and vocal advocate for teachers and students.
I left SOCES to help open the new CES: Maywood Center for Enriched Studies. I was there for one semester when I was hired for my DREAM job…
Which brings me “here”. I envisioned this job 20 years ago when I began teaching and I am so excited that my district has finally caught up with my vision. I have a strong tech background and have worked hard to incorporate technology into every aspect of my classroom.
I am in the process of becoming an ISTE Certified Educator. My portfolio will be completed and submitted in February 2019.
I am a Google for Education Certified Trainer.
